About my new still lifes

My images usually emerge as inner images. They come and then I start searching for them in the outer world to draw them.

I created my art many years in landscapes. Outside, I was working with the outer world, while being a part of it. Standing on lakes or in front of mountains, I saw these with clarity and from the distance. I translated them onto paper, while much of the space stayed "empty", the sky, or the white paper.

Eventually, my inner images became darker and blurred. It was, as if I had gone into a dark inner room, where I met a counterpart like a flower, with which I could start a dialog.

Flowers are beautiful and impress me with their atmosphere of passivity and equanimity. They seem to have no second agenda.

In my life I go through constantly changing states like confusion, calmness, fear or ease. States, which I, at best, even if they should be uncomfortable, simply experience without resisting.

With the flowers, I can express these states.
